Taste of Crete Recognized by the Greek Embassy for Work Promoting Greek Specialty Foods
The embassy praised Taste of Crete for promoting Greek cuisine in the United States and especially for its cooperation with Balducci’s in the planning and marketing of Balducci’s 2007 Greek Festival.
BRIDGEWATER, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE) – February 21, 2008 – On November 29, 2007, Taste of Crete's owner and founder Esther Luongo Psarakis, attended a dinner at the Greek Embassy in DC to honor over fifty of Greece’s Economic and Commercial Partners.
This invitation recognized the efforts of Taste of Crete in promoting authentic food products from Greece in the United States. In particular, the Embassy recognized Taste of Crete for its role in supporting the planning and marketing of the Greek food festival at Balducci’s, a specialty food supermarket chain operating on the East Coast.
Esther Luongo Psarakis stated, “From talking with other retail chains, we know that there’s a lot of suppressed demand for high quality Greek specialty food products. In 2008 Taste of Crete will continue working with retailers to plan Greek food festivals and other Greek-themed promotions to deliver authentic Greek specialty foods to the U.S. market.”
