Sam’s Club, celebrating their 25th Anniversary, and in collaboration with Count Me In, has created an award program to support the growth of women owned, entrepreneurial companies like Taste of Crete.
BRIDGEWATER, N.J.--(PR Newswire) – October 15, 2008 – The owner and founder of Taste of Crete, Esther Luongo Psarakis, was honored with the Sam Walton Emerging Entrepreneur Award in recognition of their commitment to social and environmental causes while continuing the successful expansion of their business.
Taste of Crete is an import and wholesale company with the mission of supporting organic and artisanal producers in Greece as well as promoting healthy authentic Greek foods in the US. Taste of Crete has partnered with organizations such as Autism Speaks and participated in events such as Taste of the Nation that fight childhood hunger. Despite difficult economic conditions, Taste of Crete expects to double its sales in 2008.
The Sam Walton Emerging Entrepreneur Award resulted from a partnership of Count Me In for Women’s economic independence and Sam’s Club. The award offers one-year of paid professional business coaching, free access to Count Me In's educational resources and seminars, and a Sam's Club Business Membership. “We are honored to receive this award that will allow us to collaborate with Count Me In’s community of like-minded women entrepreneurs who inspire and mentor each other,” stated Esther Luongo Psarakis, owner and founder.
